Our Service

The laser has become a useful tool for selectively removing material on surfaces or for marking tasks since its power can be adapted locally, its pulse shaped selectively and it beam focused precisely. Fraunhofer ILT develops laser-based processes for the marking of various materials, such as metals, plastics or papers, although in some cases filler metals are also used. The institute focuses on application-adapted optical systems and marking processes, compact marking lasers and tools for modeling the processes involved. In modeling, it is working on specifically produced optical properties and the calculation of temperature-time distribution.

The services offered range from feasibility studies, the development and implementation of application-specific marking or polishing processes, integration in industrial manufacturing processes as well as individual consultation.
