With the Smart Headlight flagship project, Fraunhofer ILT is working with four other Fraunhofer Institutes to test the integration of Advanced Driver Assistance (ADA) sensors for autonomous and semi-autonomous driving in headlights. To this end, the researchers are merging radar and lidar at the data level and coupling them with the lighting component via an optical system.
