This is what you can expect to do as a Student Assistant:

💻 In Administration, you will support either Human Resources, Office Management or Library, Project Management, Occupational Safety, or Marketing and Communications. Depending on the department, your work will be mainly bureaucratic and creative.

🧪 In science, you are more likely to be responsible for preparing, conducting, and evaluating experiments. You will also often be involved in research or, in some cases, independent projects. You will be working directly at the pulse of research – the focus will also depend on the department you apply to.

What to expect when writing your thesis:

By writing your Bachelor's or Master's thesis at the Fraunhofer ILT, you can apply your theoretical knowledge to practical projects. You can either find your topic in our job advertisements or contact our recruiting team directly with a topic proposal. In either case, you will write your thesis in cooperation with one of our chairs at RWTH Aachen University.

And after that?

The departments are always happy when students who have completed their training decide to stay 🙂 You are welcome to write your thesis with us after working as a student assistant; or you can join us as a student assistant after completing your bachelor thesis. No matter what you choose: Every position with us is linked to specific scientific projects. This means that you will be helping to improve society and industry through applied research.
