Energy Management

Our research relies on high-performance infrastructure – and this should be operated as energy-efficiently as possible. With our ISO 50001-certified energy management system, we continuously optimise energy use at Fraunhofer ILT, preserve resources and support the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s climate goals. In doing so, we combine economic efficiency with environmental responsibility and make our contribution to sustainable research.

Our principles of energy management …

Continuous improvement

We systematically analyse our energy consumption, identify areas for improvement and continuously enhance our energy performance.

Responsibility for the climate and resources

We contribute to the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s climate goals through the efficient use of energy, the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the responsible management of resources.

Efficient infrastructure

When planning, operating and modernising our buildings, technical facilities and laboratories, we take energy-efficient solutions into account throughout their entire life cycle.

Innovative energy supply

We rely on modern technologies, increase the use of renewable energies and continuously develop our energy supply.

Using energy consciously together

Energy management is a shared responsibility. We promote awareness amongst our staff of the need to use energy responsibly and efficiently.

Reliable standards

Our ISO 50001-certified energy management system ensures transparency, guarantees compliance with energy-related requirements and forms the basis for the sustainable development of our institute.
