Incorporated into a new system concept by Automatic-Systeme Dreher, which leads to great flexibility and increased productivity of the system through overlapping work areas of two cutting heads, Fraunhofer ILT presents an AI-supported process monitoring that minimizes process-related system downtimes. The interaction of innovative system technology, the cutting process developed by Fraunhofer ILT, and process monitoring results in extremely dynamic processing with the shortest cycle times.
High-speed laser cutting is not only a flexible and economical alternative to mechanical punching in laser blanking, but also suitable for the production of bipolar plates and porous transport layers (PTL) for hydrogen technology. Fraunhofer ILT demonstrates remote and gas-assisted cutting processes as well as other laser-based steps in the manufacturing chain for bipolar plates, including welding and structuring.
