Clinical Diagnostics

Our range of services

Together with leading experts from the fields of laboratory diagnostics, pharmacy and biotechnology, Fraunhofer ILT is developing compact customized μFACS systems (Microchip Based Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter). These can be designed as pure screening systems for high sample throughput or as platforms for clinical laboratory diagnostics. The technical solutions of Fraunhofer ILT include, among others, OEM modules that can be integrated – via their interfaces – in fully automated machines and diagnostic production lines for routine diagnostics and are suitable for continuous operation.

Selective laser-induced etching (SLE) can be used to produce complex 3D structures in glass. Thus, the µFACS devices can be provided with additional functions on the microfluidic chip such as droplet generators for droplet-based microfluidics or switches for species selection that can be activated optically.

The services “Clinical Diagnostics” offers range from feasibility studies to prototype development all the way to the implementation of small series devices.
